Episode Synopsis[]
In this episode we see Joey engage in his first real duel, against Mai Valentine. Along with some intermittent support, Joey is able to overcome Mai's perfume trick and defeats her with his Time Wizard.

- (Title) It's a reference to "My Funny Valentine ", a jazz standard tune as well as the tune of the show Babes In Arms .
- (00:00) The cereal box is an obvious rip-off of Cheerios .
- (01:09) "Robot monkey" is a reference to future episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh (see Episode 51), in which Tristan is eventually turned into a robotic monkey.
- (02:13) The sound effect and exclamation mark come from Metal Gear Solid .
- (03:10) As he transforms, Yugi paraphrases Scrappy Doo's catchphrase (originally "Puppy power!").
