The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old clueless and quite frankly dim-witted part-timer, who finds himself unexpectedly thrust back in time after being pushed onto train tracks and killed. Just before impact, he is transported twelve years into the past, returning to his teenage self. There, he encounters Naoto Tachibana, who learns from Takemichi that his sister, Hinata, will die in the future. Determined to save her, Naoto becomes the catalyst for Takemichi's time-traveling journey. As Takemichi becomes entangled with a cult called Toman, he meets various key figures both in the past and present, including Gadget, Mikey, Baji, Chifuyu, and others, all while trying to change the course of events.

Tokyo Revengers: The Abridged Series first aired on youtube back in 2021 , however due to copyright reasons - youtube terminated their channel. Upon being terminated, KokonoiAbridged continued their series, only now uploading their videos through ODYSEE and TWITTER. Their abridged series was the first Tokyo Revengers Abridged series that aired and also the longest one going.
In Jan 2023 as their 21st episode aired, according to their twitter, their laptop broke down leading them to take a year hiatus. It seems the issue got resolved as they made their return the next January they made their return with the 23rd episode and have been back ever since.
