Tenkaichi Ironman Budokai Abridgathon (often shortened to TIBA or #TIBA) is the title of Team Four Star's first, "definitely not annual", abridging competition.
It was announced on Team Four Star's channel on May 31st, 2016 and concluded on June 30th, 2016.

Premise [edit | edit source]
The competition is meant to be a way to encourage Youtubers (and others) to create new abridged series, as well as to promote the art/hobby. All participants submit their creations to Team Four Star in the hopes of being chosen as the winner.
The campaign was a viral success, with hundreds of submissions being obtained by the end of the month.
Rules[edit | edit source]
The rules for the TIBA competition were incredibly strict and made it a challenge for even seasoned abridging veterans. They were as listed:
Primary Guidelines[edit | edit source]
- You may use anything you like as source material, with the following exceptions:
1. Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball GT, and Dragonball Super
2. Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate
3. Attack on Titan
4. Final Fantasy VII
5. Sword Art Online
6. Naruto, Naruto Shippuden
7. Yu-Gi-Oh
8. And all spinoffs of the above!
9. Kingdom Hearts footage may be used as long as no Final Fantasy VII characters appear in the final entry.
- All entries must be submitted before June 30th, 2016 at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time.
- All entries must take the form of an mp4 video file no longer than 10 minutes. No physical submissions.
- All entries must be accompanied by a text document file with real-name credits and a contact email address for each contributor.
- Only one entry will be accepted per person or group. Violators will be disqualified!
- Teamwork is both accepted and encouraged; however, no person may contribute to more than one entry in any way. Violators will have ALL of their entries disqualified!
- No judges or employees of T.F.S. Entertainment LLC may contribute to any entry in any way.
- If we find that any part of an entry has been created prior to June 1st, 2016, that entry will be disqualified!
- Addendum: similarly, new episodes of a pre-existing abridged series are not permitted.
- By submitting your entry, you are granting Team Four Star non-exclusive permission to display your video on teamfourstar.com. Emphasis on NON-exclusive: we’d also love to see it on your personal YouTube channel, web site, or anywhere else you like!
Rounds[edit | edit source]
These were the Rounds of Judgment by which every entry was critiqued.
Round 1
- Any entry that doesn't make the judges laugh within 30 seconds is eliminated.
Round 2
- All remaining entries are given numerical scores based on: Writing, Visual Quality, Audio Quality and Judge's Tilt.
- In addition, any duplicate entries (such as three different versions of Inuyasha Abridged) would have the funniest/best version chosen to move on to the Top 30. The others will be eliminated.
Final Round
- An entirely different team of judges will critique and give their scores to each of the Top 30. Those scores will be added to the original scores and based on that, each video will be placed on the list from 30th to 1st.

All of the judges are members of TeamFourStar and highly successful with their own independent abridged series in the past.
