Curtis Arnott, more commonly known as Takahata101 is a voice actor, editor and writer for TeamFourStar. He is one of the co-founders of TeamFourStar, along with one of the most well-known abridgers online.

History[]

Takahata has become a popular figure in the Abridging community as the most popular character of the 1st season of Dragon Ball Z Abridged, Nappa, turning a character most popular for saying "What does the scouter say about his power level?" into a lovable, hysterical character in his own right in TeamFourStar's Dragon Ball Z abridged. Takahata101, with the help of the team, created a parody of the song "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker JR into the cult classic "Ghost Nappa" after the death of Nappa in episode 9-10. During the Christmas season of 2009, the song "Killing in the Name Of" was added in the song collection as a joke. The next year KaiserNeko, the series editor, collaborated with Takahata101 as he mentioned fans were not too happy with that song not being downloadable, and added the full version of the song with a downloadable feature as they had done for Ghost Nappa.

Takahata101 is a skilled non-profit voice actor in the abridging community. He has been in a multitude of fandubs and is part of multiple fandubbing groups. Takahata101 has been in many projects to date as a popular Canadian voice actor. In an April Fool's Day video on LittleKuriboh's channel CardGamesFTW, Takahata101 is referred to as a "voice whore", although he had been referred to as such long before Kuriboh's video.

After the end of Dragon Ball Z Abridged, Takahata101 became known for being one of few Males that found success in the Vtubing community.

Trivia[]

  • Of all his roles, his vocal impersonation of the original Perfect Cell voice is considered the most accurate to the original performance, originally by Funimation's Dameon Clarke.
  • Takahata101's performance as Nappa in Dragon Ball Z Abridged is considered by many to be the source of a huge boost in popularity to the character, who was previously held in little regard by the fandom.
  • Takahata101 also recorded lines for the Dragon Ball Xenoverse video game series, using his Nappa voice for the game's create-a-character feature. Many of his lines are references to both the official Dragon Ball franchise and Dragon Ball Z Abridged series.
  • During his stream on his Twitch channel: Takahata101, on 29/7/2019, he mentioned his porn name is Fricassé.
  • In an interview with Totally Not Mark, Lani and Kaiser revealed that Taka was the only one that wanted to be Nappa, as early on they only focused on the big scenes and moments.
  • In the DBcember on Movies and Specials, Takahata said (when TFS put EoB on the bottom of the list) "What, my man is on the bottom?" suggesting that Nappa isn't Takahata's only character he likes doing voices for
  • Takahata voiced the character Deadpool in the web series DEATH BATTLE!
  • He also returned to voice Alucard in DEATH BATTLE!
  • Takahata has also worked for Funimation, voicing various minor roles in shows like The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., among others.
  • He's met Chrisopher Sabat at a convention and did the "over 9000" scene with him; there's a YouTube video to prove it.
