Speed Racer Abridged is a parody of the classic anime series from the '60s. It takes a nostalgic look at the absurd 1960s cartoon logic and physics which define the show (as well as the incredibly bad lip-syncing) and brings new life to the beloved franchise with modern humor and the 20/20 clarity of hindsight all neatly packed into a bite-sized morsel. It is currently relatively unknown, even though the first episode has been on YouTube since March 18, 2009.
The show's creators are known collectively as TeamSRA, but more specifically as silversonic1 and dethchop, who are also the main voice actors. TeamSRA has also used creative input from its other voice actors, vadr64 and faeriedancer13.
There are currently 11 episodes released on YouTube, the most recent of which is SRA Episode 12 - The Phantom Mechanoid. It is billed as the first episode of SRA (Speed Racer Abridged) season 3, even though TeamSRA has not actually released season 2.
