Men In Black: The Abridged Series (also known as MIB: TAS) is the title of My Name Is Mircea Inc.'s abridged series based on the Men In Black: The Series, made by Adelaide Productions Inc.. Like many abridged series, MIB: TAS takes the personalities of each character to their extremes and conveys the original plot, showing the ridiculous oversight of many characters within each episode.
History[]
Early Ideas/One-Shot[]
Since DrMircow was working on Episode 9 of Abridged Brothers' Batman: The Abridged Series he wanted to make a solo abridged series as well. Sometime after the release of the episode, he decided to do an one-shot on Men In Black: The Series, a series he enjoyed when he was younger. The series was planned as an one-shot at the time, although he promised he would do more episodes if the feedback from the pilot episode would be positive enough.
First Episode[]
On 1st May 2011, the first episode entitled "Episode Pilot Syndrome" was uploaded on YouTube. Although the feedback from people was fairly small due to the small number of subscribers on My Name Is Mircea Inc.'s channel, most of it was positive. The editing, voices and some of the jokes were praised in the episode, although the censoring of the swear words and the filler scene in the middle of the episode drew some criticism.
Series[]
On 11th May 2010, DrMircow officially confirmed that Men In Black: The Abridged Series is an actual series and not just an one-shot anymore.[1] Moreover, the script for the second episode was confirmed to be under-development.[2]
On 27th June 2011, Episode 2 entitled "The Abridger Syndrome" was uploaded on YouTube with praise from fans.
Overview[]
As the name suggests, Men In Black: The Abridged Series is a dramatically shortened down version of the original series, cutting each episode down from its original twenty minutes.
Plotline[]
Agent J is the new recruit at MIB. Aided by his mentor, Agent K, he must save the day from aliens trying to invade planet Earth.
Humour[]
The humour of the series has constantly varied and expanded from its original premise. Rather than just making fun at the original series, other elements have been added throughout time to the parody.
Music[]
The series is also known for playing different songs to suit the mood of certain situations.
