Since there are not many people who contribute to the wikia yet, we cannot make an effective guideline system on formats and other stuff.

I suggest we wait about a month. We'll probably get more people by then. During that time, everyone should, if they have not already, come up with ideas for format guidelines. Once we have enough people, we can discuss everyone's ideas and decide on what we want to go with. Endar Ren 21:03, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I have posted some of what I have so far.

Guidelines

1. No pornographic images, links, or material in any article.

2. Articles about a series must be unbiased.

3. Please do not give us too much information in an article about an abridger. In other words, nothing too personal.

4. Articles about an abridger must include at least one link to one of the abridgers' pages.

Before I begin, I would like to thank everyone who has been contributing to the site for the past few days.

Format for Episodes

I currently have two ideas for episodes.

The first is each episode has its own article. An example of this are the Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged Episodes. One down side is that they are harder to sort in the categories.

The second format is a single article. An example of this can be found here Gantz TAS Episode List. While it is a big article, it does make it easier to find the episode information you want. It might also be a little more difficult to edit.

In both formats, there are some things we would like to be listed. Any music that is used in the episode (You don't need to include the opening unless its a special one), cast and guest stars, the post date of the episode, the title, the length, a link to the episode, and references to popular culture. For ease of use, please list the elements in music and references in order from first to last. It is also helpful to state when they happen, but you do not have to do that. A synopsis is also welcomed.

Endar Ren 17:14, 16 July 2009 (UTC) I would like to go with one of the episode ideas as the general template, so please post your input

I really prefer the individual episode pages. When all of the episodes are on one page, it looks really messy. Fizzmaister 22:31, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

--- I agree with him, I prefer individuals--Brengarrett 00:43, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

I personally think all of the episodes should be on one page. In reality it becomes easier to edit after a page has gotten past a certain size, and the page will be easier to edit, rather than a collection of pages. Since the page would have a Table of Contents, I don't think it's necessary to have each page with a synopsis of a 6 minute long video. I would say that no single video should have it's own wiki-page, and rather only People, Series, Events, and terminology should have their own pages.Xerostyle 01:13, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, they don't have to be one page. Semisoma1 uses a similar format of episode lists, but he divides them into seasons. That would make it less messy.

One problem with individual episode articles is that we would have a lot of work to do if we had to change the name of the series. For example; let's say someone makes a "Blue Gender Abridged" article about their series. Then he makes articles for all the episodes. Now, if another Blue Gender Abridged series came up, we would have to change the names of the series article and every episode article. Plus the links in the episode articles to the next and previous would have to be fixed. In other words, a lot of work.Endar Ren 01:15, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Oh, I do have a bit of a side note. Because not everyone who posts here actually knows how to use wikia, I'm planning on making tutorial videos on the basics. That way they can see how it is actually done. The first two will be on how to make articles about an abridger and an abridged series. Endar Ren 03:45, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Abridged Movie

Pretty much the same as an abridged series article. Instead of episodes, it has parts. Since there are not too many parts for an abridged movie, we can do it all on one page in a similar style to episodes.

Also, the category is "Abridged Film".

I think these flags are pretty self-explanatory, so I won't bother. Bren and I were thinking of using the quote style they use for flags on Wookieepedia. We'll probably have a contest for that later.

Concerning videos, I don't think we should allow abridged episodes to be posted here. The reason being is that that is not the purpose of this site. There are other sites for that. Endar Ren 14:27, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
