Final Fantasy VIII The Abridged Series was created in November 2009 by 16 year old Foymeister (Jonathan Foy) and his friend and writer NeoSpade (Jack Iball). It is on Foymeister's YouTube account mpfaefkafmtfjkf and it has so far recieved positive reviews despite not being as popular and high tech as other abridged series.
Characters
Squall: Squall is personally Foymeister's favourite Final Fantasy character and his personality is very different from the game. Instead of being brooding he has a more college student attitude. At the start of the series Squall starts out having the hots for the Quistis and even being in an inadequatelty explained relationship until Episode 8 when he falls in love with Rinoa, whom he finds somewhat annoying but cares enough for her. He hates Zell because of his annoying attitude and goes as far to rant at him in Episode 11 and in Episode 12 Part 1 after his, Quistis and Selphie's drug related activities he expressed his desire for Zell to be brutally murdered. Although at times he shows a brash attitude to Seifer he does respect him.
Zell: Zell's presonality is much like the game, cocky and annoying. He is the punching bag of the abridged series often getting insults mainly from Squall and Seifer. He worships Squall and seems oblivious to the fact that Squall hates him
