Fairy Tail Abridgement or FTA is an Abridged Series that was founded by Phattony92, Atlaskoala, and TheDastails. Episode 1 has been out on Youtube since April 15, 2013. The series is primarily written by Das, Ladi and Tony. Fairy Tail Abridgement first panel's was at Kentokyocon 2014.
History
The inception of the project came from FairyTail Abridgement in November 2012 after watching some Fairy Tail Episodes. He then posted an audition thread on AbridgedForums and originally had his brother casted as Natsu. The original deadline was December 31, 2012. Sadly, only 6 audition clips came in. So he decided to push the deadline all the way to March 1, 2013. Very luckily and strangely, numerous people joined AbridgedForums in January 2013, including Dastails. On March 1, 2013 Dastails was notified that he was voicing Gray. Dastails was so ecstatic that he decided to become a co-producer and not just a Voice Actor. After a month and a half of writing and editing, Fairy Tail Abridgment Episode 1 was released. It can be viewed on Dastails's YouTube Channel.
Since the release of Episode 1, Phattony92 has now been confirmed as Co-Script Writer. Due to Copyright, Episode 1 had to be bordered around a Fairy Tail Background due to Tv Tokyo being quite anal about any Fairy Tail Episode 1 Footage.
In Mid April 2013, FairyTailAbridgement made a post claiming he has been busy with school and exams since the release of Episode 1. Due to that being the case, Phattony92 and Atlas Squad stepped up and became the co-director and co-script writers. The only problem was FairyTail Abridgement voiced Happy, but luckily no one was really fond of Happy's Voice. Dastails and the Co. went on YouTube and VAA looking for Voice actors. They found their Happy by watching a voice demo reel on YouTube. Dastails and the Co. thought she could pull off the voice. She was brought into Skype call and she pulled off the voice quite well. So she was offered a spot on the team and project and she gladly accepted. Erza and Elfman voices were left open due the previous voice actors flaking. Erza's voice was found the same way that Happy's was. Elfman voice was found by MrSkoringo personal recomendation: Ranmarotto.
FairyTail Abridgment plans to help with the project after his exams are finished which should be mid-June. The Project, however, will not be delayed and has plans to release Episode 2 by the end of May 2013.
On June 11, 2013, Fairy Tail Abridgement Episode 2 was released on YouTube.
Episode 3 had many delays and was supposed to be released 1 month after Episode 2. The delays were mainly voice actors not being able to turn their lines in promptly. Due to that being the case, the voice actor was re-casted 1.5 months after the release of Episode 2. Shortly after recasting her, Episode 3 was released. It was released on July 30, 2013. Also around that time, AtlasSquad decided to legally change his name to AtlasKoala. He said the name change was in credit to a spiritual journey he had.
On September 6, 2013, Phattony92 (Tony) attended Kentokyocon 2013 in Lexington, Kentucky. He hosted 2 panels concerning Fairy Tail Abridgement. He premiered Episode 1 Redux at the convention and it was uploaded 2 days later on YouTube.
In October 2013, Phattony92 decided to recast Erza due to Iceskater becoming increasingly busy. Phattony, Atlas Koala, and Dastails decided Ladilol to become Erza the 3rd.
On November 10, 2013, Episode 4 was released on YouTube.
On March 17 2014, Episode 5 was released. One thing to note is this episode was in 1080p quality. Every subsequent video will be in same HD quality.
On October 4, 2014, Episode 6 was premiered at Kentokyocon 2014. It was later uploaded to YouTube later that day.
At the end of 2014. AtlasKoala stepped down from directing, but will remain a voice actor for the project.
As of Episode 10, FTA has parody the farthest(when it comes to plot) out of any Fairy Tail Parody group.
Episode 14 is the start of the Laxus Takeover arc.
Episode 15 was released on April 4, 2018. It is the second episode of the Laxus Takeover arc.
